

Michael A. Tassin, Jr.

Michael A. Tassin, Jr. is a lifelong resident of Slidell, Louisiana, graduating from Northshore High School in 2005. Michael attended college at Louisiana State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration: Management, and a minor in Leadership Development in 2009. Michael graduated from Loyola New Orleans College of Law in 2013.

In 2015, Michael was elected Justice of the Peace of Ward 8 in St. Tammany Parish. As Justice of the Peace, Michael adjudicates small civil claims under $5,000.00 and evictions, and he performs marriages. He was re-elected in 2020.

Over the course of his legal career, Michael has practiced in a variety of areas and has represented both plaintiffs and defendants. From 2017 to 2020, Michael served as associate in-house counsel at Globalstar, an international satellite communications company. In 2024, Michael became a qualified mediator in Louisiana, and he joined Brice Jones and Associates as Of Counsel. Michael brings his wealth of knowledge and experience to the practices of successions, estate planning, property, business, collections, and personal injury.

Michael is married to Ann, a former educator, and he is the father of Michael III and Adalida. The Tassins are parishioners of Saint Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church where Michael serves as a Liturgical Minister (reader), and both he and Ann serve as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.

Michael and Ann are members of the Ozone Camellia Club (Michael is a Past President, Emcee, and Judge), and they have over 60 varieties of camellia plants in their yard. Michael is Chairman of the Board/President of East St. Tammany Habitat for Humanity. Additionally, Michael serves as the Vice President of Justices of the Peace for the Louisiana Justices of the Peace and Constables Association. Michael is an Eagle Scout and a graduate of Leadership Northshore (2015). Michael participated in the Disney College Program in 2007 where he worked at Walt Disney World as a Watercraft Pilot, driving boats between hotels and the Magic Kingdom.

In his spare time, Michael loves to hunt and fish, garden (flowers, vegetables, and fruit), woodwork, exercise, grill, travel, read, listen to music, and study theology. In the past, Michael has dabbled in brewing beer, making wine, attempting to learn guitar, golfing, running, and tennis. Apart from his sister’s wedding in 2017, Michael has exclusively worn bow ties since 2013, and yes, he ties them himself.
